making my way downtown
[The big issue here isn't getting fired. No, Spy will be fine for now, considering all that he's saved. Losing a resource as powerful as RED and Mann Co in general is a blow indeed, but Spy can get by. Right now, he's more concerned about living and making sure none of his loose ends catch up to him.
Most of the things he's taking back with him are either essential or expensive. The weapon magazines and catalogues sent by RED are still sitting in his old quarters, along with some leisure books and even some pieces of his old uniform. The suit has always been a part of his look, so he keeps some of it; they make for some decent padding for the wine stored in the trunk of his car.
With his tie slung around his neck and his jacket over his arm, Spy makes a mental checklist of all he needs. His life is pretty much stowed away in his wallet: bank cards, multiple IDs, cash, miniature cloaking device, plane tickets... He pats his pants pocket for the only thing that doesn't fit in his wallet: his passport. Not that he'll need it for the flight, but it's good to have these things just in case.
A tiny part of his brain nags at him, urging him to feel sentimental about leaving his workplace of over four years. But to hell with that - god knows this won't be the last he's seen of them.
When Scout hobbles up to his car, a mess of stupidity and arm casts, Spy is tempted to slam the door in his face and make him eat his dust trail. But, of course, the little mongrel has to pull the mother card and all of a sudden Spy feels responsible.]
I have a jet leaving in fifty minutes. You've got twenty. Get in the car.

great now that song is stuck in my head lol
The other one he rolls down the window for so it can stick out. Thankfully they're in the desert and he doesn't stand to get it clipped off by much. By the time he's got the door shut, he's panting a bit from the effort so he doesn't speak for a moment. ]
No severance pay, no worker's comp. Dis is bullshit.
[ What the hell is he gonna be able to do like this? Well, his mom would help him figure it out, once he got their savings out of the bank. Fortunately, despite what he told Spy, she had the sense not to let Scout handle all their money. ]
just as planned.gif

updating his accent after spending more time around francophones
Besides, it's not his fault that he's here. His current situation is a direct result of stupidity clashing head on with stupidity. That is to say, the idiotic people of Teufort and his useless teammate.
At least he has cigarettes. They never let him down. Well, not directly. His lungs could protest in that regard, but. The sweet nicotine.
Spy leans his weight onto one arm braced against a cell wall, half turned away from his teammate.]
Why. Why are you continuously a t'orn in my side t'at I cannot remove?

[ A stage whisper. Granted no immediate response, Scout stretches his legs above his head and nudges the bunk above, bouncing Spy on his mattress. ]

He gets two days in the infirmary, but then he's being led back into his cell. ]
Hey pal, you fuckin' miss me?!

His mask is a sensitive spot, but it hadn't been much of an issue with RED. In fact, it had been pushed by the company, and the idea of keeping his identity a secret with such a blatant disguise has been ingrained in him due to the years spent working with RED. Right now, however, it provides him zero assistance as it stretches over his eyes, thanks to that guard's earlier manhandling. He doesn't see another punch to the face coming and when it does, it lands right on his big nose.
There are hands around his throat by the time security pulls his assailant away. Spy has just enough time to identify his attacker as their new cellmate before he's getting pulled to his feet by other guards.]

Because it's totally fair that Spy tried to make him bust out while he was in casts and a brace, but a little broken nose and extra skin makes it impossible. What a diva. Whatever. They've been in here for months now, another week or so can't hurt.
Fortunately, the shower went off without a hitch, though Scout tried to keep a surreptitious eye out to make sure just the same. Apparently he'd killed WGAF after all, or may as well have - the damage had pretty much turned the man into a damn vegetable, which he learned from one of the model inmates that got to work in the infirmary. Also luckily, he hadn't been around long enough to make friends, so Scout only has to worry about one little group possibly stabbing him. The inmate didn't know when Brick was going to get out, but Scout knew they had to be gone by then or things were going to get real messy.
No, the problem comes when they return to their cell and find.... there's only one bed. ]
What da hell??! Yo Spinelli! SPINELLI!
[ But the guard is pulling his baton warningly. "In the cell, inmates." ]

The night before, he'd gone over the plan with Scout to make sure no one would fuck up (but if anyone does, it won't be Spy, not this time). It should be straightforward - distract the guard, guide Scout downstairs, retrieve the toys, press the button, then make their merry way out the door. Their biggest problem will probably be opening the door to the storage room, but between the two of them, they shouldn't have trouble breaking it down.
Having slept off what he hopes are the remnants of their latest drugging, Spy glances over to his teammate as they approach the showers, lagging near the back of the crowd. His confidence has been restored along with his balaclava. Tipping his head in a shallow nod, he cloaks, taps Scout on the shoulder, and heads off to take care of the guard. It shouldn't be long before the man is incapacitated.]
