[The big issue here isn't getting fired. No, Spy will be fine for now, considering all that he's saved. Losing a resource as powerful as RED and Mann Co in general is a blow indeed, but Spy can get by. Right now, he's more concerned about living and making sure none of his loose ends catch up to him.

Most of the things he's taking back with him are either essential or expensive. The weapon magazines and catalogues sent by RED are still sitting in his old quarters, along with some leisure books and even some pieces of his old uniform. The suit has always been a part of his look, so he keeps some of it; they make for some decent padding for the wine stored in the trunk of his car.

With his tie slung around his neck and his jacket over his arm, Spy makes a mental checklist of all he needs. His life is pretty much stowed away in his wallet: bank cards, multiple IDs, cash, miniature cloaking device, plane tickets... He pats his pants pocket for the only thing that doesn't fit in his wallet: his passport. Not that he'll need it for the flight, but it's good to have these things just in case.

A tiny part of his brain nags at him, urging him to feel sentimental about leaving his workplace of over four years. But to hell with that - god knows this won't be the last he's seen of them.

When Scout hobbles up to his car, a mess of stupidity and arm casts, Spy is tempted to slam the door in his face and make him eat his dust trail. But, of course, the little mongrel has to pull the mother card and all of a sudden Spy feels responsible.]

I have a jet leaving in fifty minutes. You've got twenty. Get in the car.

[ He grins sharply, but also a little sardonically. He heard Spy wheezing. He was kicking the man in the lungs at the time, but still... ]

[Spy rolls his eyes, showing the whites for a second.]

[Still rolling his eyes as he finishes his meal. One day they're going to roll right out of his head and he'll be worse off than Demo.]

[Is his kinda-sorta-flirting rubbing off on Scout? Good lord.]

[ Well, there's a difference being able to emulate someone and actually taking on their habits, Spy should know that. ]

[ He takes another bite, thoughtfully correcting himself. ]

'cept after this, I'm takin' a nap.

[ The anti-psychotic drugs tend to make him pretty drowsy and less inclined to be violent, imagine that. ]

[He's unsure if Scout is deliberately avoiding addressing what Spy really meant by that, but he won't pursue it. There's something more important to consider right now.]

And you assume you get first shift on t'e bed?

[Gestures to the plates. He's going to be sleepy soon, too, and after rolling around he's not inclined to sleep on the floor.]

[ Scout squints at him. ]

Woah, wut? Spy, it's my bed.

[ And just to make that clear, he gets up from his finished plate and moves over to sit on it. ]

[Is Spy really ready to deal with this bullshit childishness right now? He rubs his temples.]

Not'ing in t'is room is yours seeing as you are a prisoner, Scout. It is just as much yours as it is mine.

[ The childish response is to flop back onto the bed and give an exaggerated stretch out, folding his arms behind his head. Scout's the sort of person who, if he wanted someone, would lick it to claim it. It's just that the bed's too big to bother trying that. He shuts his eyes, though a sliver of the one closest to Spy is open to watch him. ]

Don't say I didn't give you an alternative, because I did.

[And because Spy has the capacity to be just as childish as Scout, he's going to pretty much jump onto the bed with his back down. It'll leave him vulnerable to Scout pushing him off, but he's hoping that dumping all his weight in the general vicinity of Scout's stomach will catch him off guard.]

[bonking]

[ Wow. Is someone taking a leaf out of his playbook? Because body slamming Spy for taking his bed would have been exactly Scout's solution.

Scout is caught off guard, a whuff of air surging out of him. Spy's lucky he didn't just puke all over him, but man, he comes close, retching against Spy's shoulder. One hand reaches up to slap at the man's body while he tries to roll over onto his side in a recovery position. He can't even talk for a moment because he's so concerned about not throwing up his dinner. ]

[A grin cracks his face before he breaks out into laughter. When was the last time he laughed here? And not just dry chuckles or patronizing, wheezing laughter as air is being squeezed out of his throat, but something genuine and occasionally interrupted by snorts.

Because he's feeling so kind and gracious, he adjusts his weight so he's not lying on Scout anymore.]

[bonking]

You... [ Hurk. ] You piece-a shit...

[ Scout doesn't find this as funny, lashing out a blind kick behind him at the other man. ]

[He takes the kick before drawing his legs up to rest his heels against the back of his thighs. One hand splays over his mouth to keep back any residual laughter while the other reaches out to flick Scout in the back of his head.]

Striking insults, as usual.

[bonking]

[ He has to focus on his breathing for a moment, but he jerks away from that flick. Fucking. Asshole.

When he feels up to it, Scout rolls over towards Spy and begins to slap and shove at him again, retributively. It's the sort of thing you'd probably associate less with a street fight and more with siblings jammed together in the backseat of a car. ]

Son. Ova. Bitch!

[It's so childish and nonviolent (compared to what he's used to) that Spy is close to laughing again, grinning as he swats back. He's settled onto the bed now, so even if Scout were pushing at him harder, it would take some effort to actually roll him off.]

Sensitive stomach? Oh come now, you've endured worse.

[bonking]

Sure, when you drop your fat fuckin' ass on it, it is!

[ He knows Spy's not fat, but he's a grown ass man and he has no business jumping on Scout's stomach! Ugh.

Scout scowls at him and punches him in the ribs before he, too, settles. ]

I hate you.

Oh, not my ass, leave my ass out of t'is.

[His face scrunches up in a mock flinch, but it doesn't last long. The grin on his face is interrupted by the punch to the ribs, but he just wheezes out one more laugh.]

Ah, I 'ate you too, chéri. So much.

[bonking]

Don't call me a cherry! I ain't no frickin' fruit.

[ His eyes droop a little, though, cutting through the hateful glare he had going on. ]

If I kick you out, yer just gonna come back in when I'm asleep anyway, ain't ya?

I'm not calling you a cherry, mon petit.

[Different nickname, same intent. It all rolls off his tongue in an affectionate purr, betraying his earlier words.]

Probably. Preferable to sleeping on t'e floor. Warmer.

[Yeah, the drugs go well with his current mirth. While Scout glares at him, he gives his teammate a warm look that looks foreign on his already unfamiliar face.]

[bonking]

[ Yeah. That's weirding Scout out a little. His own face scrunches up a bit with it, but he sighs through his nose. ]

I'm tellin' ya, it's that ice water blood-a yours, froglegs.

Whuteva. Get the sheet then.

[Turning away, he puts a hand over his eyes. Just sleep already, you frog.]

I suppose Pyro would be ideal in t'is situation, oui?

[He stretches his legs back out to catch the sheet with his toe before tossing it up.]

I thought you said you wanted to be warm, not on fuckin' fire.

[ Scout snatches at the sheet, pulling it over them both. He also rolls over enough to punch a divot in the pillow for his head. ]

It's called an exaggeration.

[Excuse him for not being grumpy for once. Spy sleeps on his back to keep it covered, so he doesn't move much save for adjusting the sheet.]

Don't tell me yer missin' that thing, of all people.

[ Scout sleeps on his side most of the time, if not sprawled out face down. He can't really do that with a bedfellow, though, can he? So he has to settle for lying on his side, chin almost perched on the other's shoulder. He could roll over but. Effort. The drugs ( and probably the fight from earlier, too ) are making him feel like an anchor. ]

[He moves his arm to shoot his teammate a look with one eye open. Scout is closer to him than he expects, but he doesn't do anything about it.]

Is it your turn to ask for a cuddle, now?

[ Well there's only one pillow and he's supposed to share, right...? ]
